Emily shook her head slightly, "I guess I had hoped it was a boy." She said lightly.

April lifted her head and looked at him for a moment then glanced at the ground, "oh.." She said quietly.

Rhiann wiped her eyes quickly, "Holly's father wants to take her away.."

Alek chuckled lightly.

Josh sighed, "My last relationship was with Meg...and that was hardly a relationship. Before that I hadn't dated anyone properly since I was 21."

Meg blinked, "He cant do that." She said quietly.

"Have you thought of anything?"

April looked at him and kissed his cheek, "my last relationship was violent." She shrugged lightly, "I partly know the feeling," she said and bit her lip. "But I know I love you and if you're not ready, then maybe we shouldn't do this."

"He thinks he can," Rhiann shrugged helplessly. "I'm never here, with my job, I'm away for months on end.. He thinks she's better off with him then my mother.."

Alek shook his head, "Sorry." He said softly.

Josh studied her face, "I do love you." He said softly, "But maybe some time is what we need."

April forced a smile and nodded slightly, "okay." She whispered.

"I can't loose her, Meg.. I'm so scared to go on deployment incase he takes her when I'm gone.."

Alek kissed the back of her shoulder gently.

Josh squeezed her shoulder, "I'm sorry." He said and got up, stepping outside.

Meg closed her eyes, "Request emergency leave."

Emily smiled and looked down at their daughter.

April buried her face in her hands before bursting into tears.

"I can't, I can't let them down like that," Rhiann sighed lightly. "I'd feel bad."

2 weeks later
Meg sat in the meeting room next to Josh. It was the first aviation meeting of the deployment and the first time she would be in the same room as Alex. She glanced at Josh who also looked nervous but couldnt figure out why.

Kara stepped into the room, taking a seat.

Grace sat in the mess, eating some lunch.
-
Alek stood up on deck, missing Emily like crazy but was able to send her an email earlier.

Jeff sighed softly and sat back in the wardroom.

"Dad, I can't."
Alex blinked and stopped just before the door and looked back, "you have to." He said quietly, "it's okay, come on."
April watched him walk in the room then closed her eyes briefly then followed him in, sitting down.
Rhiann put a hand on her shoulder as she passed and sat down beside her.

Dec walked over and flopped next to Grace silently.
